Counselling and Psychotherapy

If you are feeling down or stuck, wanting to understand yourself better, or make meaning of your experiences — perhaps I could help.

My name is Lauren — I am a registered therapist in the UK, working privately and also within NHS mental health services.

My approach

My approach is rooted in offering a non-judgemental, empathetic, and genuine space for you to talk about your feelings, thoughts and experiences — they may be current, past, or about the future.

As well as exploring your relationships with other people, we will explore your relationship with yourself, as how we feel about ourselves can have a big impact on our wellbeing.

I strive to offer a safe, supportive therapeutic relationship, that is strong enough to sometimes gently challenge ways of thinking or doing things, if it seems like they could be holding you back. I will always respect you as the expert in your own life, while offering my knowledge and skills to help you make sense of things.

I believe that many factors outside of ourselves contribute to our experiences, including present day social issues and historical events; acknowledging and exploring these experiences in your life may be an important part of our work together and I am committed to understanding them as best I can, even if they are different from my own life experiences.
